I would rather open 1S than 2S, but I would pass.

Ditto.

Same as Frances.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

I'd pass.

Axxxxx is the worst suit for a preempt since if partner has a singleton, their side usually can't make that many tricks in a suit contract. Since 2 is out, the only other option is 1. With more playing strength such as a seventh spade or AJTxxx in my trump suit I would open, but not with this hand.

Pass hoping to back in later and not get pard too excited.

I'm more worried about being shut out with a heart suit and short spades.

Complete agreement.

I also don't care for 2 at this vul in first or second seat with that weak a suit and two aces. That being said 2 does do a decent job of preempting, but here I pass.
