Curse my partner for missing the 4♠ sacrifice. Oh well, I went for a "wait and see" lead, then switched to hearts as dummy was advertising declarer's cross-ruff line in big shiny red letters.

Iguess 4♥ is cold, but what if declarer draws trumps first?

I think declarer always succeeds on this layout. After drawing 2 rounds of trumps, Ace of spades, ruff a spade, ruffing finesse in diamonds. Assuming covered, declarer can now cross-ruff for 10 tricks (2 hearts, spade, diamond, 3 spade ruffs and 3 diamond ruffs).

Come to think of it, what if you play a club to the ten and when you win the lead again, play the ♣Q for a ruffing finesse pinning the 8. Before going back to my original line of the ruffing finesse in diamonds etc. You now get a club, diamond, spade, 2 hearts, 3 spade ruffs and 3 diamond ruffs.
