Find a good bridge-related caption for this picture:

This instantly came to my mind when a hitherto unknown BBO partner and I missed a cold slam. I wish there was a way to instantly flash that picture at partner's screen; come on, Fred, make it happen.

(P) - 1 - (P) - 1
(P) - 2 - all pass.

I made 11 tricks on a 4-2 fit. Partner had 11 high card points.

That's the voiceover. If you actually read his lips at this point in the movie, you'll see he's saying "You shall not play bridge with me again!"
Still decidedly intermediate - don't take my guesses as authoritative.

Funny. I had a well-respected player pass in a similar situation in a live game recently:

1 - 1
2 - 2
PASS!

Pard was 1444 with 16 HCP. I happened to have a pretty good hand myself, but it never occurred to me that he could pass 2. I misread the hand slightly so I only made 11 tricks in my 6-1 spade fit. This result did not matchpoint very well.

That's what I was thinking. It already has the best line, and the fact that it occurs on a bridge is great as well.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

:P ken, and the bridge gets destroyed too.

Anyway I've always wanted to coin a word so here goes:

Henceforth let's all use the term "Balrog" to describe a player who makes a bone-headed pass, hurling his partner and himself into a bottomless chasm.
