Like the rule of 11 but when you lead 3/5.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

12 applies to 3rd lead, 10 applies to 5th lead. The rule + the lead = 15. So it's really the rule of 15

If two tricks have been played, everybody has 11 cards left. But for me it's usually 10 or 12.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

There's also the rule of 12 and 14, which states that when posting a problem to rec.games.bridge, undoubtedly one of the hands will have 12 or 14 cards.

With less than an opening hand, add the lengths of your two longest suits to your high card points. If you've more than 10 (or 12), preempt in your longest suit.
