I agree, but would change the 'if' to 'when'... it's only my opps who have partner hold hearts on these auctions.

Pass at favourable, squirm at equal, and then double, but at unfav, pass is impossible.... our auction will look horrible if partner holds KQJxxx(x) in clubs, but we rate to survive otherwise (and my opps would hold that club suit AND be xx Jx xxx KQJxxx.. and my partner's spade lead will lead to -720)

Agree that pass would be automatic if we were white against red but now we can't.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I try x followed by 2 NT at red and 1 NT at white/white. I am not sure what to do at fav, I guess 1 NT, I don't have the synapses to pass.
