Does anybody else have a v.92 modem and use the modem-on-hold feature?
The modem-on-hold technology is supposed to let you take a phone call for
a limited amount of time while still connected to the Internet and then to be
able to resume as if nothing had happened. Is there anyway to get the BBO client to interpret a modem-on-hold differently than an Internet disconnect? Anyway for the server to not indicate my connection has been lost either?

Don't think so, BBO is too sensitive about having a sign of life (a msg from the client) in a reasonable amount of time. BBO has no way to know whether you have your modem-on-hold, or if the problem is other, it just see no msg from client.

BBO will give you a red dot at a table in about 15-30 seconds, and boot you after 5 minutes. The BBO PC program will assume the worst after about 2-3 minutes, so as long as the network connections are maintained ( i dont know how on-hold workd) you might survive a fast call.

From a program's perspective, when the modem-on-hold feature kicks in, it will look like the Internet connection has been totally lost. As soon as this feature kicks in, the BBO client just gives up and pops up that window about wanting to know if I want to learn about reasons for Internet disconnections.

What happens to (say) an ongoing HTTP download?
If the connection is reported to the program as being lost, there isnt much we could do at this point
