In order of their post counts:

mickyb (Mike Bell) has been selected for the second English team in the Camrose, this time playing in the first weekend. I've known Mike for quite some time and it is really good to see a younger player getting a chance at this level ... not that he doesn't deserve it too :)

catch22 (John Howard) is gnasher's partner (playing for the same England team as Mike but the second weekend). He doesn't post as much as Andy (or Mike for that matter) which is a shame as his opinion is always one that I respect.

Good luck all.

Congratulations to both of you!

As a side question: So there are 2 teams that each are comprised of 2 teams?

As England are hosting the second weekend in the 2009 edition of the Camrose, they get both an England team and an English Bridge Union (EBU) team. Cardiff in Wales is the venue for the first weekend (Jan 9-11, and already listed on our vugraph schedule web page).

Wales, Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and EBU to make it an even number. Round-robin 2 to be played at Oxford on 6th-8th March.

Thanks :) It really is an impressive number of selections from the contributors here. I'll try to hand over to Andy+John in a reasonable position!

Kevin - yup, as Roland says, it's England's turn to have two teams this year. Gold/Townsend are playing for both weekends for the team known as "England", others will only get one weekend (barring withdrawals). The other teams in the event will tend to be much more consistent between the two weekends.

Not sure that's true except for Ireland :)
