It is pointless to splinter opposite a weak hand.

Yea, almost as pointless as it would be to bid exclusion opposite a weak hand.

Far from true.

1♦ - 3♦ (preemptive)
?

AQxxxxx
KQJxx

If partner has a black ace in addition to his diamonds (which should be at least JTxxx) you are cold for slam. But you want to stay below 5♦.

Would you bid something other than 3♦ preemptive holding:

xxx
xxx
JTxxx
Ax

You should at least have picked a good example! If partner shows one keycard how do you know if it's the diamond king or a black ace?
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Part of the reason why Larry and I use Turbo and denial cuebidding, is to prevent any Exclusion and Kickback accidents.

I play exclusion above game level and jumps only. I think they come up relatively often.
