Which suit to switch to?

Opponents play weak NT and 4 card majors.

You decide to pass this third in, I imagine everyone would disagree but bear with me...

P - P - P - 1♥
P - 2♥ - P - 2NT
P - 3♥ - all pass

Partner leads a small trump, declarer plays small and you take the ace at trick one.
You return a trump, small, small, ten.
i) Do you agree with the defence so far?

Declarer now plays a third trump to his Queen, you discard the diamond 4(std count), and partner plays the heart Jack.
Club 7, 6(std count) and 10, which you take with the queen.
ii) Would you also have discarded the diamond 4?
ii) What card do you play now?
