it gets closer, 3NT is now only insane,
but I could agree with foolish.

It is either Pass or 3D, most likely pass.

Since you are a passed hand, I doubt 3D is forcing.

For me 3D is only an alternative, because I am a passed
hand, i.e. I was not able to open 2D (if part of the system)
or 3D, the implication may of course be, that 3D promises
club tolerance, ... which I dont have.

Since I am a passed hand I can afford to bid 3♦. 3NT is not insane IMHO.
