Other: I hate X. I would just bid 2♣ the first time. Show where you values are, get the lead director in. Partner is allowed to bid hearts if he has them.

If you want to take 2 calls by yourself, you should first overcall your good 5-card suit and then make a takeout double later. Doing this in the opposite order might make partner think you have a 19 count.

I agree. This hand looks like a 2♣ call and a double of 2♠ to me.

We are in a difficult situation now. I think we are a little too offensive for a 2nd double. I'd probably bid a natural 2N if available, although for most of us 2N probably isn't natural here.

Why isn't 2NT natural?

(serious question: in one partnership we have the agreement that if in doubt, 2NT is artificial, and I still think it's natural here)
