ref: WMSG site

Bridge is a game among four people with each two play in a pair work. A contract is decided during the first phase, called the auction. Then the second phase involves the play of the cards, and is based on information gained, together with the probabilities of card distribution. After finishing one round, the two pairs change their cards and play again with the opponent’s cards, in which way no luck is involved. Bridge is a kind of game which needs the ability of techniques and judgments, and is called a real mind sport. Bridge provides the efficient brain exercises, including the ability of calculation and data calculation as well as the improvement of people’s memory. Tacit understanding between partners plays an important role during playing. Therefore, bridge is a game in which communication and friendly cooperation counts.
