Your partner is second to speak and opens a strong 1♣ (15+ any shape), and west overcalls 1♠, natural. You pass, and partner reopens with a takeout double. Do you pass or bid with the following hand? If pass, what is your lead.

Breaking my own rule, I pass and lead a small D. The 6th S swayed me. With 5 S only, this is a clear 2D call.

I'd pass, but I'm not expecting to be on lead against 1♠. LHO will probably rescue, so there are probably some more decisions to be made.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I'd pass and lead a diamond. I don't see much chance of making a game because of the short hearts and lack of points. A club would be pointless because a ruff would remove a natural trump trick

This is precisely why i bid 2♦, because I think passing leads to problems when they run and partner starts doubling.

If you pass, the opponents play in 1♠. On a diamond lead, 1♠ makes. On best defense (trump lead), 1♠ can be taken two off.

If you respond 2♦, you'll end up in at least 5♦, which makes.

An interesting hand in that it requires trump leads to essentially be able to force declarer later in the hand.
