Agree with this.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Since most seem to want to add an opinion to this, add me to the 1 crowd.

I'm not completely averse to 2 - there are some hands where this will work out better - but it seems a little sparse for the colours to me to be making a 2 level overcall.

Pass seems way too timid to me.

If I had a 2 suited gadget to show spades and clubs over diamonds I'd use it - but I don't.

I think that 2 Club will win quite often- but is still not as good as 1 Spade.

So 1 is it.

I am guessing the ultimate contract went for a telephone number and hence the question?

No, the overcall or lack of an overcall made little or no difference to the final contract or play of the hand. I posted the had because I would have expected a near unanimous forum answer of "1, wtp", so I was a little surprised to see 2/5 forum regulars in the individual pass with this hand.

You mean that this would be the first hand in the history of the game that we would all agree with each other?

I'm surprised that no-one has suggested Raptor 1NT yet! (Or maybe that does not apply over 1)

Due to the suit quality the answer "1S, wtp" will certainly
never be unanimous.

I said "near unanimous".

No offense intended, but IMO those of you who even considered bidding 2C are trying FAR too hard to get a top board.

Trying for frequent tops is not the way to win at matchpoints.
