Say we have this auction:

1♠ - pass - pass - double
rdbl

What does a typical redouble look like to you?

Say we redouble. If pard doubles LHO's call is that takeout, penalty or something else? If we double LHO's call when it comes around to us, is that takeout or penalty?

Good hand, usually not with spectacular distribution. Later doubles are penalty.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
