Playing standard method its a WTP X.

The way im playing, X tend to show a balanced or semi balanced hand and partner pass more often then in standard method so doubling with a void is out of question therefore i bid 4C showing both M. At equal length partner will choose H.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

4. Don't want partner to bid 4 over 4 with something like xxx, Qx.
Double is okay too, though partner is still waiting for my trump switch.

4...way more offense than defense and no interest in partner sitting for 3x

What would 4 mean over 4?

Double, wtp? 4....wow. Do people simply enjoy inferior fits? Partner passing COULD be bad, but would more likely be good, or at least no disaster, so what exactly is the objection to double?

I've seen the error of my ways. I'm down with the double.

Double is clear IMO. It's by far the most flexible action.

I'm too strong for a 3 overcall, and 4 is very misdirected. The only plausible alternative to me is 4, but even that is too unilateral.
Kind regards,
Harald

If partner passes, why do you assume that is bad?

Agree that X is clear but I'm still pretty unhappy about it. Sometimes you have to double on hands where it's not great if partner passes though.

My initial reaction was 3 = 10, _X = 9, 4 = 8, 4 = 5.
But now the consensus has convinced me that _X = 10.
