Seems a non-problem to me. I have a minimum (albeit clear) response to 1♣ and the auction hasn't encouraged me into bidding on now.

Ok, as expected.

What kinda hand do you think partner has?

I think this shows 3307 or perhaps 2317 and extras but not game forcing. If he had a more balanced hand he would double. I would pull to 4♣ from here, which I believe will be a much safer contract.

Agree with this. 3 card raises don't take the push to the 3 level unilaterally without a reason.

The wrong kind. I'm not sure I can think of a hand that only has 3 card support and wants to force to the 3 level in the 4-3 opposite a random 6 count. Surely they have a more descriptive call besides 3♥ once they've already shown support. Maybe 3♣ or 2N or something...

Picky, picky. Missed the 3♦ rebid by opponent.

Right. Any other shapes that might have to bid like this?

I could imagine 4306 if he is scared I would pass a double. It's true I could bid 3♠ to cater to that, and maybe in theory should, but I'm worried that would show a game force and be descriptive so I'm not going to risk it, I'll just go to what I know is a fit.

Right, that's the answer I was looking for. The hand in the original post didn't actually happen, it just occurred to me when I was holding a 4306 on this auction.

Is a 4315 15-count really doing anything other than bidding 3H here? I can't imagine what else it would do, but I'm not experienced with support doubles.

A 4315 shape is either passing or doubling, never bidding 3H.

With the actual hand I like 3S, we already limited our hand so it should be clear that I'm just looking for the best strain. If partner has a 4306 shape and raises to 4S, well, I'd rather be there than 4C.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Fair enough - I thought X would be more like 18-19 bal.

Unexpected 3H bid. Must be a strange hand, otherwise there is no justification to bid 3H with only 3-card support. Maybe opener mistakenly made support double with four pieces? If not, he must have a singleton somewhere and long clubs.

If double of 3D includes most hands (18-19 bal no stop, takeout, etc) then how would you bid now with a decent hand that's 4-4 in the majors with a diamond stop?

You can't do everything.
