well i have to agree whit him sometimes, but not all the time, like on this hand:
we were playing a friendly team match, my p was one of bbos star players,we have played together a few times, but only system agreement we had made was " sayc, std carding" so the bidding is all natural.
i hold thees cards : ♠QJ973♥983♦AQJ2♣J
you are dealer, voul vs not.
pass-3♥-X-4♥-4♥-pass-4nt-pass-6♦-pass-6♥-pass-? now what??
i choose to bid 7 ♠ now, all pass and dummy comes up whit:
♠AK1052♥A♦K54♣AQ102 and 13 tricks was claimed.
now my friend say i just closed my eyes and bid 7,but i dissagree, but pls vote and tell me what u think, was 7 a wild shot? could p have less than what he had after the bidding?
kenneth:)
foole me twice, shame on me....!!

A cowboy, would surely have opened 1♠, but that is another issue.
A cowboy also might have bid a lot more than 4♠ directly over 4♥. Now, the 6♦ bid was all hollywood... no need for that (that was too wild for even a cowboy)... do you really thnink 4NT was to play. This was nice, tame RKCB. You should answer politely one keycard thank you very much.... If parnter makes any further slam investigation, then bid the grand.
Now, after the, er, creative leap to 6♦, 6♥ is a grand slam try. So if i had passed (i would not), if i had bid only 4♠ (i would not), and if I had leaped to 6♦ over 4NT (i would not), I would have gladly bid the grand over the grand slam over the grand slam try of 6♥'s.
So like I said, no cowboys, but the bidding is suspect all along here...this probably prompted the comment.

Six diamonds can only be pick a slam... 6♦ or 6♠ imho....simply because no other logical explaination exist without lookng at the hands, and looking at the hands, the same conclusion is reached...

Well, helium can explain what his bid meant for himself, but looking at the ahnds here is a conversation someone else making this bid may have had with himself.
6D bidder thinking to self...
"Hmmmm, I told partner I like spades, but he bids 4NT. could he have a big balanced hand, and he not like spades?"
"No, that doesn't seem likely. Maybe 4NT is pick a contract and he was afraid to double 4HE as I might pass..."
"No, that might not be right. You know what I bet 4NT was blackwood, yes that makes sense, but I play wiht this fellow so few times, maybe not. If its not blackwood and I bid 5♦ he will pass and we miss good slam, as I have extra values."
"Will partner pass 5♦? Gosh he will be mad at me if he does. I know, I'll play it save since I have extra values for my 4SP bid, and simply jump to 6♦. If we belong in slams it has be be in one of my two suits... I know, with the wisdom of soloman, my jump to 6DI will let partner figure out what to do... he has the gold star after all.. "
Something like that. And yes, jumps show voids and keycards normally.
