None of the responders in this thread said they were going to call the director. 1NT-3NT-6NT is indeed stupid, but stupidity is allowed at the bridge table as well as on the BBF forums. You would only call the director if you had reasons to suspect that the opponents were cheating.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

JT I think you should just stop using example hands in your posts.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Actually I think you are embarking down a very slippery slope if in a ftf game you call a director to the table and accuse someone of cheating. You might find yourself shown the ACBL door.

I believe the proper procedure is to file a report with the Recorder, who handles such delicate matters a little more discretely.

You might not, too. I was in that situation a few weeks ago, as the accused. The director's "ruling": "We're gonna let that slide." :) :) :(

Yes agree.

Similar to this, I recently had a hand in ftf Kx Ax KQxx KJTxx. We were white, they were red. LHO opened 3H, partner passed, RHO thought it over for about 5 seconds, put his hand on the pass card, took his hand off of it, put his hand back on it, pulled it out, put it on the table, waited a couple of seconds, then released it. I did not know who RHO was at all, and his act was convincing so I passed. Dummy was J98xxx x xxxx Qx. When dummy hit I was really about to flip out and both opponents denied that any of this happened. I was going to call the director but really what am I going to say, RHO cheated and is now lying about it along with his partner? I just took my zero and filed a recorder form.

I am relieved to hear that :)

Cheating is a strong word. People may take advantage of UI subconsciously, or they may not be aware of the rules. I wouldn't call that cheating but it still warrants a TD call.

do those do any good? I mean. people like you are aware of them, but how many times is a pair like this going to play against someone both knowledgeable enough to notice irregularities and aware enough to file a form?
