1n (2c) p (2d)
p (p or 2M) ?

2c is Cappelletti. How do you play bids here? x = t-o or pen? 2n=nat or other? Minimum bid in a suit? Jump in a suit?

If you are lucky enough that your opponents are playing Cappelletti, i.e 2♣ = 1-suiter, my suggestion is that you play system on (Dbl is Stayman). After all, opponents have failed to show their suit so far.

If they seem to have settled on a suit, Dbl by responder is TO, as in your example. 2NT would be "pick a minor", assuming their suit is a major.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do!
