This is becoming more popular at high levels. My partners want to try it but google didn't do much. Is there an exposition somewhere?

A = attitude please
Basically, this means "do you have the queen"
Don't know whether this style leads to more unattractive leads from Axxx.
I guess not.

K = count please
That seems good from KQJx, AKxxx (5 or 6)

However, as leader with AKxxx, I don't like to commit the defence to a particular signalling path.

Q = attitude please. This could be awkward since you need K from KQx to avoid a Bath Coup. So partner encourages with A or J. Fair enough but what of this
     xxx
QJx        Txxx
     AKxx
East might like to encourage here to tell partner declarer doesn't have AKT.
But he can't because leader rates to have KQx, etc.
Does this mean J from QJx? From KJTx?

I've assumed suit contracts. Guess there are variations against notrumps.

Oops. That should have been
"since you need Q from KQx to avoid a Bath Coup"

How hard did you search?

Combining Count and Attitude Signals
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Try searching these forums. I wrote a long post on this a year or so ago which generated quite a lot of discussion.

i encountered an interesting position recently.

we play A=att, K=CT/UB for Q, Q=CT/UB for J, also J denies

i held a strong hand with heart one-suiter and led HQ against 1NT opened and doubled, which was won by decl with ace. when my p was in hand he was unsure whether he should return heart (good if i had KQ10xxx), or side suit (good if i held AQJxxx) to avoid me getting endplayed.

now, inferences could be drawn from declarer play and discards but anyway we came to the conclusion that it would be convenient that exception is made to "jack denies" when it is known that attacker is long&strong in the suit led, so that J shows AQJ

How can you ask for attitude with KQ??

Also with KQxx you are stuck to lead the K wich is problematic. Partner might even overtake your K with Ax ouch.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Lead the Q.

A lot of the time a Q will not be ambiguous because partner or the dummy has K or J. And partner's attitude is clear enough holding the Ace.

Wich seems unplayable.

I play against NT that A asks for highest honor/unblock; if no honor, show count. And K asks for attitude. Ace will be often led from suit headed by AKJ. King will be led most likely from suit headed by KQ, so partner will encourage if he holds the J. I find this easier to handle than having A ask for attitude and K for count/unblock.

The reason why we prefer that the K ask for unblock/count instead of the ace its because its hard to lead an ace when you have KQT9x.

I like your attempt at humor even if it was not successful :blink:

From a suit headed by KQ109(x) the Q is led, in my methods.
