Pass.

Even if partner is a noob, I prefer to make the normal bid.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I think I would bid 3H at MP's.

Pass. Spades outrank hearts.

I'll explain that later.

Wow, that's tempting. Don't need much to make it.

I'm vulnerable, huh?

Stupid vulnerability.

-200 is a terrible mp score.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Pass, though maybe I wouldn't at the table.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Pass, what can I do if partner has not acted, they have an eye on the colors also. Delighted I'm getting a H lead.

Yes. Maybe scoring (IMP's vs MP's) should not make a difference to bid this hand?

I think it should make a big difference on this hand.

Partner could still have a hand like:

QTxx
xx
QTx
ATxx

What's he supposed to do, bid 2NT when you might have just been bidding a lead director? No thanks. When you show strength now, he can bid 3NT, and probably make it. That scoring bonus looms large here.

Or he could even have a decent raise. Wanna raise to 3 with 4 spades, 3 hearts, and an 8 count? Not if you're partnering with somebody who likes to throw bids in.

So I think in IMPs, the advantages where partner raises to game when he realizes you're serious are, um, tempting. OK, not big enough, but they're there. I suspect that when I bid again in IMPs, I'll lose 3 IMPs on the median. That's not good, but it's not turning as 50% into a 0 either.

I'm much more tempted in IMPs. Just not quite tempted enough.
