Playing against an established, good pair you are faced with the following:

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the ♥3.

7 puppy paws, although I can see the attraction of 6 shovels. I mean this is all a bit of guesswork, but i'm not gonna let them play in a red slam.
Edit - Given the change in the OP, I change my vote to 6 shovels.

Bidding 6♠ could be a masterbid, but why on earth are his spades solid? He didn't need AKQ of spades to raise our 5♣.. AQxxx xxx x AKxx makes 6♣ look pretty good to me.... firstly, he knows we are probably short in hearts and, secondly, he knows we lack defence to a red contract.
So bidding slam to make seems overly ambitious. What about bidding it as a save?
Well, partner may hold a slow heart winner and it is hardly impossible that we have a natural trump trick. Partner will often lead spades on this hand, especially if we double (no, this is not a Lightner double situation... if pass is forcing, as I think it has to be, then double is the slow-down call, not lead-directing). If he cashes a spade, then I should be able to suggest to him (especially when he sees dummy) a heart switch.
I could pass to allow partner to double with a defensive hand: but I am worried that he will bid 7♣ on the wrong hand... a hand on which there is no way to avoid a slow spade loser (when bid to make) and an easy plus against 6♦ (when bid to save).
So I double, but I realize it may make.

The full deal was:
At the table I doubled, the contract went down 1. I think pass might be better if it isn't forcing. opps could easily run out to a making 6♥ (not in this case, but in general).
Scoring: XIMP
1♥ - 1♠ - 4♥ -5♣;
5♦ - 6♣ - 6♦ - ?
1♥ - 1♠ - 4♥ -5♣;
5♦ - 6♣ - 6♦ - ?
