I figured I'd add a thread for the Vegas NABC in July, for posting info/game needs/etc.

Anyone know a cheap hotel/motel near the Vegas playing site where I won't get stabbed in the parking lot? Alternatively, anyone looking to split a room? I'm a 28 year old guy who doesn't snore, and I'll be in Vegas from the 15th through the 27th. I'm also looking for some games after the GNTs are done.

I've been an ACBL member for 5 years now, have about 450 masterpoints, and will be experiencing my first nationals, after my partner cancelled on me for Detroit. I can play a fairly complex 2/1 card, but don't know other systems nearly as well. Private message if you are interested.

The Sahara is probably the best choice, followed by the Circus Circus (walk through the Riviera). You can usually do better through sites such as Travelocity or Expedia, if you are willing to live with a cancellation fee, than you can through the hotels.

If you are really cheap, I will post directions for taking the city bus from the airport to the hotels.

You won't get stabbed anywhere, unless you book in North Las Vegas. Keep your wallet in a secure place. Pickpockets are everywhere. And that good looking gal with the low cut top only wants one thing too

I think we are at the Riviera. Its going through a renovation but Gnome get a room for sick cheap. The Excalibur is cheap too, but what a piece o' *****. Don't stay there.

Actually booked at the Sahara. I got 10 nights there after-tax for $575. Can't beat the price really.

Strongly suggest that those who do not stay at the Hilton do not plan to walk to the Hilton. This has nothing to do with getting stabbed.

The problem is that it is very hot in Las Vegas in July and the sun is extremely intense. Unless you are used to living in a climate like this, even a 15-minute walk can really mess you up (not just through sunburn - it is physically draining).

Lol the excalibur is about 50 times better than the riviera. Of course riviera is way closer but just saying.

Try priceline.com Friend of mine got a room for 35/night. He will have to cab it to the Hilton, but its about 7-10$ ride from the hotel.

I would not walk from riviera/circus circus to hilton. From what I recall, that area is pretty deserted.

Seems to be a monorail running from various areas of the strip to convention center - I've been planning on using that.
