I really don't understand why people do not use Herbert Negatives after 1♣-X-P, 2♣(Precision)-X-P, and 3♣-X-P.  Other situations might have some downsides.  This does not have any real downsides in comparison to the pluses.

A lot of the juniors play it over 2C X P when playing against precision.

If I sit down against Precision, I seem to often have the same conversation with partners. Them: "What do you want to play against their strong club?" Me: "Whatever. Natural works, but I'll bid too much. But, we have to play 2♣-X-P-2♦ as Herbert." Them: "What the Hell is Herbert?" Me: "Lebensohl 2♦."

I won't bother with 3♣-X-P-3♦ until the second year of the partnership.

1♣-X-P-1♦ looks good, and I like it, but there are usually too many other things to get to first.

IMO

• Over (1♣) X, 1♠ = 10, 1N = 9, 2♠ = 6.
  
• After (2♦), 2♠ = 10, _X = 8, _P = 7.
  
• When partner competes reluctantly with 3♠, _P = 10, 3N = 7, 4♠ = 5

Length in LHO's suit tends to be a liability
