Their point scoring options would be Minor slam, NT game, minor game or some penalty from us. The "some penalty" and its likelihood of happening increases with the level we bid at. Obstruction in a 2C auction also depends on their agreements and whether the big hand gets to declare.

I like to overcall 2 hearts here and follow with a spade rebid or rebids as the auction permits. First off, it shows my best suit at an unpunishable level. Second, it does interfere with their structure and may identify the weak hand as having the H stop. When they veer into the minor contracts, I will get a heart lead on the table from either side.
