Scoring: IMP

2 on your left, double by partner, 3 on your right. 3 is explained as a spade raise with a heart lead-direct.

If you pass, what do you do if it goes 3-p-p, and what if 3-x-p.

I think on this hand I bid 3 over 3 and raise whatever suit partner bids to game. I see about a 0% chance of partner bidding 3NT.

How would your partnership interpret a direct X of the 3 call? Heart showing, responsive, or something else?

I'm pretty sure I haven't discussed this auction with any partners. My guess would be that it shows hearts. Could be a hand too weak bid 4 (such as a lead directing double) or a hand with general values and no direction. What I don't like about doubling with this hand is that I don't want to double 3 for penalty and I'm fairly endplayed if I start with a double and partner doesn't take a call over 3.

I would just pass and then pass, maybe that's wrong but I don't see where we're going on this hand even if we have a lot of points. If partner Xs 3S I pass and expect to kill it.

We have plenty of points but partner H values got crushed. X of 3H would show hearts.

Doubling 3S is just too dangerous. So pass and pass ill take my small 50

I go the agressive way with 3 spades, but maybe biased because I know partner would pass 3 spades.

I would never play 3 spades doubled, opponents will normally have 6 spades + 1/3 heart tricks. Not very profitable.

Ideally you'd want a X to be responsive, but X'ing 3H looks like I have a 3H bid and passing now then X'ing 3S looks like penalties. I'd probably bid 3S now. I don't think I'd be playing 3SX

Pass + dbl. This shows a hand that would be stuck for a bid if it had gone

2 dbl 3 ??

Why would I want to get involved in this hand with 3-3 in the unbid suits (which are both minors), a terrible heart holding, and not even an opener? If pard can't double 3 by himself, I doubt we should be in the auction.

Fixed - yes.

Double of 3 would show hearts, since it's a major. It would be responsive, if it were a minor. At least that's how I play it.

So, P+X should be responsive, not penalty, since we didn't have a responsive double available on the first round. With this hand, I'm just going to pass 3.

Double for me would be responsive. In general, doubles of artificial raises are TO (at least for me). Wouldn't we double if the auction started 2 - dbl - 3?

If pard has a 1=4=4=4, I'll hope he passes (probably dreaming except at MPs). If he has 5 of a minor, I'll be glad I bid. We can play a dummy reversal on many layouts.

If I pass, I pass.

The main problem will be, that I went into a tank
looking at the hand and at the biding, which makes
passing impossible, ... I will pass anyway.
