My pard passed this hand and I wasn't too crazy about the decison. I held A9xxx KJ8x AQ Jx. Do you want to be in 3N here? Its pretty close and if you keep your wits it rolls - RHO has one club honor - spades are 4-2.

Opponents in 3N drove out the spade 1st. So we won 6.

Personally I like 2C a little better although it could be a silly contract. 2S is ok but I hate ruffing hearts with my KQ.

I think you need to do something.

You could have overcalled 1N, too.

One of them hands, pal, where both had a chance and didn't do it.

Next board.

Of course, had you been playing my Schritzenfuber all-purpose t.o. doubles, a double here of 1H shows 5 bad spades, hearts double-stopped, and a 5422 pattern with 15-17. What? I thought system was ALWAYS the answer in these threads.

That would be a really dumb bid imo.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Pass

Seems to describe my hand. If partner overcalls a spade on a twenty count, I would do something different.
