You hold, at love all,

Scoring: IMP

1NT P 2 2NT
P 3 3NT 4
P P x P
P 4 x all pass

Partner (not you) opens a mini 1NT, 10-13 HCP, 5CM or 6Cm allowed, or any 5422 except both majors (but if partner has a 5-card major it will be weaker than a normal opening bid)

Your 2 asks for a 5-card major. It did not imply any high cards, so partner would always have passed over 2NT.
2NT was any 2-suiter
You bid 3NT to stop LHO giving RHO any help with the opening lead

I'd lead the A, although it seems like anything could be right here.

i'm sort of tempted to lead my small spade... but that probably blows the setting trump trick or something

Gonna peek with the A. Really tough one. I like A as my second choice. Agree with Noble that it feels that anything can be right.

Q.

Ace and another spade was my first thought, and perhaps that is best.

But LHO is likely 5-6 in the majors, possibly the A is our only heart stopper and the hearts set up anyway.
So I lead the club to try and tap dummy.

Agree that A is also possible. :P
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Ace of spades, second choice queen of clubs (better than a low club Justin).

I don't like the 2C call.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Ace of spades. A low spade isn't fooling anyone since this is hardly an auction for a trump lead. I'll decide what to do after I see dummy.

I don't like the Ace of diamonds at all. What is the point?

The point of the A is obviously to collect our tricks before they disappear. Just imagine responder with say the AK and out and declarer with a 5=6=2=0 distribution. I mean it's all a big guess as to what the best lead is. I mean the A could blow a serious tempo to where now declarer can set up his long suit and draw an ample amount of trumps and the winning defense was to force him in a minor.

Ace and (after seeing dummy) probably another trump. We have the balance of power, and if you don't lead trumps alot of tricks will be cross-ruffed. Could be wrong, and you need to set up tricks before you lose them, but that's life.

What force? Both majors are splitting well.

Doesn't RHO have like a 55 in the blacks? If so, small spade to keep control.

A = 1400 if you get the rest of the defence right (it's not easy)
Low spade = 1100 as partner probably won't play you for Ax
Ace of hearts or any other heart = something silly such as +500, it's an absurd lead
A = +1100
Q = 1400 if you defend absolutely perfectly thereafter
Low club = easy 1400

As teammates have gone for 800 on the same hand, it's worth imps to get this right
