I don't understand the support for rulings like Ave+ / Ave - on hands where a result has been obtained. These are illegal rulings surely, unless someone has either a) fielded a psyche or b ) played an illegal convention?

I don't see anything in this thread about artificial adjusted scores after a result was obtained. Maybe I missed it. :) IAC, yes, when a result has been obtained on a board, an artificial adjusted score is illegal.

The laws don't tell us how to adjust after a fielded psyche or use of an illegal convention. Some authorities, the EBU for example, have regulations regarding such things, and the EBU's regulations, at least, specify an artificial adjusted score. Other authorities (like the ACBL) don't have such regulations, so the TD is left with what the Laws tell him to do. Law 12A governs.
