I would bid 4C now, I think partner will expect 3 card disparity usually (certainly 2 at the most, in which case if partner himself has a 2 card disparity he will convert).

I would have bid 3S instead of 3D, this is a powerhouse.

Edit: agree with 4C now.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

It would show that you should not have bid a NF 3D the round before. Alternatively it would indicate that you bid 3D, then shotgunned some beer, then had to bid again.
