1♦ - (p) - 1♥ - (2N)
pass - (3♣) - 3♠ (pass)
4♥ - (pass) - ?
2N was described as the unbid suits. The also play double and sandwich NT, so you can expect a lot of black cards.
Feel free to disagree with 3♠, but I don't think there is an alternative.

Pass. We probably have a diamond loser and despite knowing where the hearts are may not be able to pick them up. ♠K, ♥Kxx, ♦Kxxxx, ♣Axxx is possible but clearly more than we deserve. Transportation and finding the right suit are further worries.

This is tough. Even if the partnership would expect 4♣ by Opener to show quantitative heart slam interest, would he do so with enough of the hands where slam makes? If not available, then what? What if 4♣ is also a hedge bid?
Awful.
My gut tells me to bid on, though.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

This is a tough hand.
But xx Kxx KQJxxx xx is enough to make grand pretty good, so it has to be wrong to pass.... since he has an opening bid, not a weak 2 in diamonds
I bid 4♠... if I am lucky, I hear 5♦ and now I bid slam. I doubt that I will ever reach grand... I just don't see how I can find out what I need to know.
If I hear 5♣, I don't like my hand so much, but I am not giving up.. I bid 5♦ and respect a 5♥ signoff.
My rule of thumb on these auctions is that if a reasonable minimum makes grand, we can't pass in game... but I won't normally strain to reach the grand because we will usually not have space to find out.
BTW, I know that this may be a 5 or 7 hand

If I knew pard had a maximum weak two with heart support then I would be way more excited about grand than in this auction.

Disagree with 3S, for me 3S is looking for a club stopper. 4C showing shortness is a better bid. Anyway its sure im not passing 4H.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."
