I was playing SAYC at that time.
In 2/1, do we always rebid our 6 card Major after 1M-2m-2M-2NT?
The spades in this hand was strong enough to make such a rebid, but what if the suit was AT9XXX?
2NT shows 2 spades, there maybe hands with a spade
singleton, who bid 2NT, but they are very rare.
So with 6 spades you can simply bid 4S after 2NT.
For that matter, it is more important to play 4S, if
your spades are poor, than in the case your spades
are good.
The good suit will take their tricks in both contracts,
the bad suit may need time to develop.
With kind regards

PS: Playing SAYV, 2NT can be passed, i.e. you wont
make this bid with 13HCP oppossite a opener.
