You CAN discuss Lightner doubles at the game level too, but I guess there is a reason why they are not so popular.

So no, X surely does not demand a Diamond.

I would lead a boring Spade too.

I think this is a Lightner Double. It doesn't call specifically for a diamond lead, but simply says "I have a void somewhere". By looking at my hand I can tell that the void is in diamonds, so I lead D10 as suit preference.
