5♣. If pard has been reading the same books I read, he should have like hearts and clubs.

Agree with Nuno, p is showing a flexible hand, not a one-suiter too strong for a 4♥ overcall. It is something to discuss with p, though. Since obviously it has merits to be able to show a strong one-suit also.

Thinking about, maybe if we play non-leaping Michaels, some alternative allocation of the bids would be better. For example 4♣ showing a one-suiter in hearts and 4♥ showing 5-5 hearts and clubs.

You will have a problem then too.

The problem is that whatever meaning you ascribe to 4♥ natural or two-suited like you suggest when you have a hand that is too strong for this action you need to do something else presumably double.

5♣ for sure. Even if partner holds a strong one-suiter, it needs to be strong enough that your minor high cards are sufficient to make 5♥. Otherwise, he should simply have overcalled 4♥.

Should I be worried that partner would read 5♣ as a cue in support of hearts, or would all slam-interest hands start 4♠?

Slam interest hands can choose between 4♠, 4NT, and 5♥. Not that it's about to happen when you could only bid 4♦.

Depends on who you're playing with. I would convert to 5C, but I wouldnt be surprised if partner simply had a hand too good for a simple 4H overcall.

Pass.

Obviously, this depends on the books you have read
and the agreements you have made.

For me this seq. would show a hand too strong to
overcall 4H direct.
