3 and 2N, respectively. Still tempted to 2N the first one too.

No ELC.

This hands are an advertisement for getting GOP to play ELC.

1. Double anyway. ELC is not an issue since if partner bids 3 (can I assume leb?) we have a game force. If he bids 2NT I will bid 3, and overbid but not by too much. Every other auction seems good to me.

2. 2NT, you got me. Would not be the least bit surprised if pass is the winner. Again don't really see what this has to do with ELC unless you don't play leb.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

(1) 3
(2) 2NT

Happy not to be playing ELC (which is different from saying that these hands are ideal for the bidding). :)
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

3D for the first 1 pass for the 2nd. Nothing else is close for me. Playing ELC i would of course X of the 1st 1 but still pass for the 2nd

3 in both. If we belong in game, pd may introduce his hearts. So I take the risk to miss the right partial.
Kind Regards

Agree with Benlessard although I am close to passing both.

I'd go with Double and pass.

On the first one it seems like there is only one sequence that causes us trouble, whereas we can get to either red suit or 3NT if P doesnt have the crap hand with clubs. To me this makes Dbl higher pct to work out than overcalling.

If pard cant reopen the second one we probably don't have game, maybe I reopen more aggressively than most people.

Double with the 1st one, agreeing with josh re the hand and the followups

Pass with the 2nd one. Close to 2N, but at least my partner is still there and will usually have short spades, so may stretch to reopen.

It is almost impossible to get to a 4=4 heart fit on the first one unless we double.

16 points is too much to pass so I am am doubling.

On the second one I try 2NT.

I plan to bid 4 over partner's 3. So if p can't bid 3N I think we will get to 4.

Agree with Ron. Incidently, given we have spade length, it's good odds pard will balance if we have a game, so no need to push it up.
