this is because you prefer sound 2 suited overcalls or would you be this happy with your random American expert also?

I don't know tbh. Looks like pard has a heart void, and we have the king of his minor, the king of the other minor (where he surely has at least 2), and 3 trumps. On the downside he may be facing a tap, but I like my hand for him.

Happy pi day!

I will go with 4.

btw isn't 7 an equally valid answer, with the added bonus that it exists?

Any other number of hearts is valid too and some of those exist.

I bid 4 I am not going to not tell partner about my spade support - Pass is too wimpy and double too unilateral.

I'll double 5 if partner doesn't bid 5 or more first. If he does then I have a good hand for him.

Double and expect +500.

I think partner would need a bit luck to bring in 4S on a forcing defence.

Valid in bridge terms, but not mathematically. If you don't get the joke you shouldn't answer :)

1 - 2 - 4 - 7 (-11 - 16 - 22 - ...) is a valid series too, you know.

Meh. Since when has "p_n - 1" not been a valid sequence? The answer is obviously 6. :)

This hand is from the last round of the White House Junior International against Iceland, I bid 4 wich was not a success.

Double +7 IMPs
Pass +0 IMPs
4 -7 IMPs

I am happy to see I am not alone in my decision, getting this one right wouldn't had been enough to qualify, but almost.

Of course all numbers of hearts are equally valid, but 8 is most equally valid by far.
