Scoring: IMP

East passed at 1st seat, south bid 2♠, then all passed.
Should anyone be blamed for missing game here?

wtp? It's opps who missed their spade game (ok, maybe you found your diamond ruff and it made 8 or 9 tricks)

I like a 1♥ opening at the vulnerability, but that is not for everyone.
West should probably do something with his shape - 3♣ and double both seem reasonable, but I would not call either bid clearcut.
Agree with East's final pass.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I totally agree with all passes.

Also agree with the passes.

I can't ever seeing taking a call with the east hand. I might double with West, but I might not.

I'm really in a somber mood this morning. Soz.

South gets 100% of the blame for E/W missing game.

Sometimes, preempts work.

No one would open EAST 1♥? He has 10 hcp, 3 control points, and 13 distributional points for a total of 26 ZAR points. Throw in two tens for good measure. Maybe instead of getting older, I am getting younger because I would open EAST 1♥. In support of hearts, WEST has something like 30 zar points, depending upon how you count them. And after EAST opens 1♥, will surely force to game.

Now if not opening on such mild values as EAST holds is against your view of bidding, ok... the passes are fine. But I would open east, so I would generally place the blame on east for passing a "clearly opening" hand (at least by Zar point standards).

I'd open E only in my crazy partnership where we open all balanced 11 counts and most sexy 10 counts. I must admit, this is a very good 10 count, especially all the tens and the nice concentration.

We open light at this vulnerability down to decent ten counts with this shape and have five or six-card weak twos. This hand i would definitely open either 1♥ or 2♥ - i don't too much mind which.

I would open 2♥ with the east hand.
Over here that describes a weak hand with 5 hearts and 4 or more clubs or diamonds.
We (the Dutch) call it Muiderberg, others say Dutch two bid.

With a void in spades west would most certainly answer 4♥.

Would 100 % X with the west hand. You can have a game or great save or partscore very easily, willing to risk them making 2S X.

Pass with East, X with West

Open with east's hand (we play precision) - playing standard, pass with both.

Pass by East is normal.

West may or may not make a t/o.

In view of the spade length, it is probably unwise
to reopen with 3H, ... I may have done it anyway,
but I do somtimes stupid things.

So I would say, never entering the auction is
normal.
