Should you pass now, or double?
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I'd pass. The only suit they've actually shown is spades, so double would suggest more diamonds than I have.

with my pd we take 1♦ as natural (cause it's simpler and it seems to be the case that most of these 1♦ bids usually do have diamonds) but this is too slim to x on
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Wouldn't "go quietly" imply the auction ends if we don't enter it? This thread should be called "enter now?" which I would do if we are treating the diamond bid as natural, but be forced to pass if we were playing double as takeout of spades of course.

Pass, this a situation in which one have to bid constructively since the deck could easily belong to us, something that is more likely than it would have been if they were playing standard.

I double happily and do not agree with the definition of X as takeout of spades, I would still play it as t/o of D+S.

This was another hand from Yeh Brothers.
The Swedish player holding these cards passed, opener rebid 3♦, and everyone passed.
NS at the other table was in 4♥.
Kit Woolsey was commentating. He did not like North's pass, and recommended a double instead.
