Scoring: MP

Uncontested

1♦ 1♥
2♦ 3NT

Lead a low club consistent with 4 or 5 (I am too lazy to go and find the hand record).

Actually I am not sure about the spades - possibly we have another honour in hand certainly not in dummy but it is largely irrelevant for this story.

You win the ace (one of your best plays of the session) and cross to a high heart for better or worse.

Do you notice all of the possibilities in the diamond suit.

RHO may duck the king from Kxx or even Kx.

You have the option of leading the 10 or the 9. Which would you lead?

LHO with Kx or Kxx has the option of playing the king.

Say you lead the 9 and the king appears (with a detectable fidget). At IMPs you would duck and score up your 9 tricks (unless somehow diamonds are 5-0). But how do you handle this at MPs? Do you win and hope the king was from Kx or Kxx rather than stiff - you also have the outside chance of dropping a short ♥ to return to the board if diamonds do prove to be 1-4. Or do you duck and play for 1-4 diamonds - squandering the chance for lots of tricks.

just lead the 10, then make most tricks if they are 3-2 onside.

Agree with lead the ten and if they cover play for Kx. Kx is way more likely than stiff K and they may make an error and cover from Kxx (which is not an error if you are going to duck the king, and finesse if they duck!)

The case where they fidget and play the K is interesting, against most opps I would be tempted to duck in that case, but you just need to know the opps/get a read etc.
