Hi all!
I, m going to presennt a system idea and ask for some advices. Please do not be suprised if you find something from your blog or website:)
Openings:
1C - 11-13NT without 4 hearts or 17+any
1D - 11-16, 5+C or D, unbalanced, 3- hearts, 4- spades
1H - 11-16, 4+ hearts, may have longer minor
1S - 11-16, 5+ spades
1NT - 14-16
2C - 11-16 4144
Comments:
Removing 4 hearts from 1C and 1D gives following advantages:
1C-1D(weak)-1H may be used as Kokish
1D-1H is relay, 1D-1S is 5+spades, 1D-1NT is 5+hearts
Questions:
Does anyone have some detailed developments after such 1H openening?
How should responses look like after 1C without 4 hearts ?
1C - 5+C or 7-10 NT
1P - 4+P
1NT - 11-12
Any ideas?
Or maybe it would be better to move 4144 hands to 1C, and the same with 4H balanced ?
Any comments welcome.
Regards
Pawel

I can concieve of only a bare minimum advantage in opening with four hearts but requiring five spades to open. I suppose that five spades are required because that is the more restrictive opening; less bidding room for responder. The system also seems to invite the opponents to compete in hearts.

It seems like 1H is overloaded. All hands 11-13 with 4+ hearts and all unbalanced 11-16 hands with 4+ hearts is a lot.
How much would be lost if 1D included hands with exactly 4 hearts if 14-16? 1H over 1D would still be be relay, not hearts, but 1D-1H-2H would only include hands in the strong end of the spectrum (as well as 4 hearts). I guess you'd also have to make 2C Mini-Roman, or throw the 4414 hands elsewhere.
Now there are no 14-16 hcp hands with only 4 hearts that open 1H- balanced open 1NT, unbalanced open 1D (or 1S).
1H-1S: Forcing, invitational count without 4 spades.
1NT: Balanced 11-13, 4 or 5 hearts
2C: Natural (5+), Unbalanced 11-13.
2D: Natural (5+), Unbalanced 11-13.
2H: 11-13, 6 card suit.
2S: Max GF. 2NT asks for shape information, higher suits start an honor-showing cue sequence.
2NT: 14-15 hcp, balanced.
3 bids like 2 bids except stronger and 5 hearts (6 for the 3 heart bid).
Note that 1S can be a 8 count with 3 hearts, because no bid goes above 2H unless it has both 5 hearts and 14+ hcp.
Another choice I like is 1NT shows exactly 4 hearts, 2H shows a minimum with a 6 card suit or 11-13 with a 5 card suit. 3H then shows 12-14 with 6 hearts and 15 pointers with 6 hearts are considered GF. 8 counts with 3 hearts can still bid 1S because with a 9 card fit you should be safe at the 3 level.
