Hi this is an easy 3N bid with 13 points and no fit in a major.

12 + 13 = 25; close enough for 3N for me.

What, you've never gone down 1 before?

(I agree with 3NT)

vs my own and some others light openings this is close between an invite and a GF. Normally I'd just raise to 3NT. Of course playing with just a little more solid openings (good 11 and upwards) this is an absolute no-branier 3NT. It happens that we go down, but then so does normally the rest of the field too (or the other table if it's a teams match).
Kind regards,
Harald

Given the other half of the problem, maybe a psychic 3 would be an idea. But realistically, everybody bids 3N. I don't think this proves that opener's 1N rebid was wrong.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

This really is not a problem. Whether 3NT makes or not is an entirely different issue.

3NT is automatic unless you play very light opening bids.

I haven't seen the other thread yet. This is an automatic 3N at all vulnerabilities and forms of scoring.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.
