Scoring: MP

Pass  Pass     1    Double
1NT   all pass

My point was:
a)
Declarer seems to hold a clubsuit - as no major was bid, nor support for his partners opening suit. Yes I know he might bid 1NT - with some kind of major suit - and maybe a lot of diamonds for his partner.
:)
The take-out double should have majors (other suits) - and as we seem to have some kind of lenght in spades rather chose a spade.

i hate these lead problems.
we're missing 36 high. someone at the table has a good hand and they're bidding conservatively. I'd suspect p has substantial values, probably a good 15-16 or so; I'd be worried that i should be getting p off of an endpla; i dunno. chalk me up for a heart.

Spade? Possible.

Heart? No. Opps probably have more hearts than us, so it's statistically bad to lead that suit.

Diamond? No. It's LHO's suit and RHO should have some diams as well.

Club? Possible as well.

I think I prefer a spade.

Clearly a black suit.

I would lead a club, as that is the suit that I have more help in.

The 1NT bid on this auction does not necessarily show a club suit. Over the takeout double, the 1NT bidder should have values in the majors.

Without the takeout double, I would be more inclined to lead a spade.

A spade for me, and I wouldn't argue with a club.

My feelings exactly.

I'd lead a spade and I cannot imagine leading anything else.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I lead the 4. of my longest and strongest, but any black card can be right.

My first impuls was a spade, but I
decided to be clever, and choose
hearts with the intention to hit partner.

Spade is certainly normal, and most likely
best.

But hearts could work, depending on
your min. requirements for a power
double.

Responder denied a 4 card mayor
suit, and he wont have 4 diamonds
most of the time, ... I ignore the case,
that responders shape is 4333.

Add to this, that most peoble make a t/o
with any length in clubs as long as they
hold at least 4-4 in the mayors, I would
say responder has clubs, ... at least most
of the time.

Declarer may well have even two four card majors. He heard the double too and may had the wish to show the nature and strength of his hand with just one bid. I think I had respond 1 NT with f.e. KJx, JTxx,Kxx,xxx.
Maybe I had done it even with Qjxx, JTxx,Qxx,Qx?

OTOH he may well have 4 or more diamonds: Kjx, KJx,xxxx, xxx?
Your call after 1 Diamond from pd and X on your right?
Kind Regards

Roland

Spades is highly likely to be our best suit so I'm leading one of those.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

I lead a spade. I've got no problem with a club either, but think a spade gives better odds.
Kind regards,

I lead 8. I hope it doesn't cost, but it lets partner know that what little strength I have isn't in
