Anyway, the relevant point is that Y said "down with", not "down on".

Personally, I think that he was being sarcastic, saying that the only reason X should have bid 2♠ is if he thought that 1♥ was a transfer. But at face value, it's saying "I'm ok with playing transfers".

Also, why was this moved to General Bridge Discussion?

Could a moderator please explain why this thread, which is not about bridge at all but is about grammar, was moved out of the water cooler to a bridge related thread?
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Apparently, a moderator misunderstood the topic and thought it was a bridge topic. Just like several posters in this thread.

I think that Josh and I knew that, but were trying to not imply that the moderators don't know how to read.
