I know another one who's not on the lists : jlall !

And what is his real name? :P

Phil: My list is also very long, also not sharing publicly. I guess your list is more focused on American players you may meet, I for one have half the Polish first league on mine...

Maybe together we can bring out the "map of stars homes" :D Nah...

BTW why hasn't anyone mentioned the obvious ones:

Fred (Fred Gitelman)
Brad (Brad Moss)

Anyway I agree we should not post such a list online.

Here's my take. Anyone can log on as an invisible and conduct their business. I'm sure the Meckwells of the world do this under everyone's radar a lot.

But since stars and could-be-stars-if-they-wanted tend to play with other stars, they're only really invisible if all of them are. E.g. if Meck logs in invisible and plays with Well, who is visible, anyone who goes to Well's table will see Meck.

Thats where the "if you've lived here long enough" analogy applies.

Gosh. The responses to this thread (and the new thread in suggestions) make me feel like the Paparazzi.

I was hoping these names will be used for kibitzing and would help improve the game... I would never dream of sending unsolicitied invitations to a star for a team game/tourney, but I understand that there are people who might do that. The annoyance to the stars only increases if there is some list of names out there..

Fair point. I will delete the list I have posted here. I suggest the other person do it too.

Rather than sit and watch a game, I would like the ability to look at the hand records of some of their games. Probably Zia doesn't want to be bothered so plays under Sunningdale. Whats wrong if I "know" this and don't harrass him on BBO. The only risk is if people bother the stars. Just don't bother them.

The only contact I have had with a star on BBO was I left a message for Tim Bourke "I very much enjoyed your book Countdown to Wining Bridge, it was first rate"

His reply was something to the effect of he was happy to hear that, and authors don't get much recognition.

For the world class players with no stars, I wont bug them. I would like to maybe look at their hand records. Maybe.

I dont think anybody has a problem with a list of "who's who" when their BBO ID's are known, i.e. Fred = Fred Gitelman, Jlall = Justin Lall, etc.

Its the ID's where the person does not have a star and their real name is not on their profile, such as Dano's or Zia's. Those ID's should not be included in the list.
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?

This will certainly help me select which $money bridge tourneys NOT to enter....

First off, any professional player (ie receives $$ for play) should be so identified.

Other than that, if they need anonymity then perhaps Pro1, Pro2 etc as nicks. At least we will know who and what we are up against.
