I would like to start a general question and answer session on Polish Club here. Hopefully Polish players can help other Europeans to grasp the system better.

My first question is:
1-(1)-2NT
Is 2NT natural: 11-12 balanced with stopper, or is it GI with support?

Jassem's book about wj2000 has been translated by Dan Neill, but there are a few things unclear. Is there a English / Polish speaker who has the Jassem book and can explain some things?

I am not an English Polish speaker, but have translated a lot of this stuff anyway.
A number of Polish players, eg Wojcicki and Poletylo play this as Lebensohl:
Weak in C or D
Invit in H

I believe, but would need to check, that Jassem plays it as GF with support w/o intervention, and as 11-12 balanced with intervention. Personally I like the Leb structure and am playing this now.

I don't remember what it is in the interference sequence but without
interference, according to Dan Neill's translation, 1H-2N is invite+ with
heart support...that is assuming I am remembering it correctly. I'm
pretty sure about this.

As far as I know, any 2x-bids after interference in WJ2000 is considered NON-FORCING and any 1 or 3-level bids are forcing. So, in this situation 2NT should still be sys-on (usually 4+support and at least INV). I think poles usually play that jump-fits are on after interference over major openings.

Hopefuly this have helped you with the problem at hand.

We also talk about it on www.bridgebase.pl forum , and there are 2 schools:

A ) 2nt= at least INV+SUP or Lebesohl (multimeaning)
Players who like this, say that after interference on level 2, we bid 2 way lebensohl, so after interference on level 1 we should bid simillar.
B ) 2nt= natural, and 2 is at least INV+SUP
Players who like this, ask one question: "do you always have support?". Imho it is very good question. How will you bid hands without support, but good enough to invite 3nt?

Why there are such differences? I explain: wj2000 is NOT the only type of PC. We have also wj98, Strefa etc. Morover, wj2000 players have also different styles, 4.ex. some of them after opps 1/ opening, bid 1nt as 16-18 ballanced, and others as 8-15 hcp 4M5m. 2 opening may be Wilkosz, or may be Multi or may be Tutti-Frutti...

But we are talking about wj2000, and I know there is one person who will answer You, his email is:
jassem@amu.edu.pl

cheers )))
It's all about the game and how you play it.
All about control and if you can take it.
All about your debt and if you can pay it.
It's all about pain and who's gonna make it.

Would you like a copy, EricK? I'll send you one. You can also have WJ_Linux - the alternative version if you like.

I suppose that I am allowed to make any tweaks I wish to wj_linux, but the others remian proprietary and have to be used as they are.
