Version 3.6.1 Available for Testing

1) Directors will have the ability to request the movie
of any deal from any table at any time. In theory this
will make it much easy for them to do thing like
adjusting scores.
You can access this facility through a new command
in the Tournament Management dialog box.
2) 1024x768 support.
If BBO fills up your computer's entire screen then
you have 800x600 screen resolution and this change
will not have any impact on you.
If BBO does not fill up your whole screen, you will
see it's window become wider than normal the next
time you log in. There are a lot of advantages to the
wider version of BBO. I especially like the way the
bridge table looks when you use "big deal mode" in
wide mode (use the 4th button from the right of the
toolbar to toggle between big and small deal modes).
You can use Control-W to toggle between wide and
narrow mode. This only works if you have at least
1024x768 screen resolution.
Please let me know if you find any bugs by e-mailing:
fred@bridgebase.com
You can update your BBO to the latest test version:
http://www.bridgebas.../bbo_update.exe
Or replace your BBO installation with the latest:
http://www.bridgebas...1/bbo_setup.exe
If you are either a director or have a high screen
resolution, I think you will enjoy this version
Thanks in advance for help with testing and for
whatever feedback you can provide.

You'll know the server has been updated when you see two new commands in the Tourney Directors "Edit Tourney" dialog (this is the screen you see when you click the green TABLE button inside a tourney)

The rumors are true - sorry - I screwed up.
New copies of the files referred to in the first post
in this thread have now been uploaded. 1024x768
resolution should enough to get the wide client
effect if you upgrade to the latest version.
If you already tried the flawed 3.6.1 and you have
1024x768 resolution, download and install again
and use Control-W after you log in to enter wide
client mode.
Sorry again about this inconvenience.

Main Bridge Club: Ctrl-W results in the scrollbar being displayed within the kibitzers column.
Table: pressing Ctrl-W twice results in a smaller chat window, just like clicking on Maximize/Restore. The Maximize/Restore pushbutton becomes "disabled" (greyed), but it it still working.

Thanks for the bug reports, Andreas.
The scrollbar problem you report seems to happen if
you hit Control-W from any place in which there is a
(non-chat) scrollbar. This will be fixed in the next version.
The fact that the window always ends up in "restored"
size after Control-W is intentional. There were some bad
side effects that I could not easily get rid of when I tried
to preserve the maxmized state.
I don't anticipate that people will be using Control-W very
often so hopefully this is no big deal. I suspect that people
with at least 1024x768 will choose either wide or narrow
and stick with that.

Thanks for the report, Julie, but so far I have been
unable to replicate this.
Anyone else seeing this happen?

Please come back to the live game; I directed enough online during COVID for several lifetimes.

This picture is as it should be.
You saw the profile this way because you were
logged in with a yellow ID. "Blue" users would
see nothing in the profile except "no information
available". This member unchecked the "allow
other members to see the above info" in their
profile.
We decided to let yellows see such information
in order to help them resolve disciplinary problems
with such people (a questionable design decision).
The PRIVATE is meant to inform the yellows that
the information you see is not meant for public
consumption (ie you should be sensitive to the
privacy of this person).
