I have ample support for the 2 unbid and HCP to double over 1♥ but having failed to do that I double now !!

Double over 1H! You are a passed hand and have a nice 6-4. Partner won't get you overboard, and you don't have to guess later.

Having passed, X 2H now. There is a strong likelihood it's your hand.

The pass over 1♥ is beyond unfathomable. I really don't mind 2♣, expecting to get to bid 2♠ next. I don't expect it to be popular (as opposed to double which is also good) but I still like it.
