Scoring: IMP

they bid 1-2;2-5

You lead A (do you agree? how strongly do you disagree?) and it goes A,T,4,8

You have agreed to "2/1 udca" with your partner.

-What should the 4 mean? (What does it mean with your favorite partner?)
-What do you continue?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I love the lead. Partner's card should be suit preference. The 4 looks medium, but south could be falsecarding holding the 3 and 2 so it could well be low. If partner had the spade ace and wasn't ruffing a club he would certainly play a higher heart than that, so I return my lowest club, the lowest so that when partner ruffs he doesn't try to underlead a spade back to me for another ruff. I'm playing partner for AQxxx KJ964 xxx -, or so (a very good hand to pass over 2, at least if it's game forcing, IMO.)
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I agree with the lowest club. There's no way we're defeating the contract without a trump trick so I have to check for the possible club void in partner's hand.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Besides playing for fun, most people also like to play bridge to win

We are all connected to each other biologically, to the Earth chemically, and to the rest of the universe atomically.
We're in the universe, and the universe is in us.

If we have a trump trick and the ace of spades. How will these tricks ever disappear?
But if we have a club ruff, this trick may well disappear if we do not switch to a club.
Kind Regards
