Scoring: IMP

1C=(1S)=X=P
2c=P=2D!=P
2S=P=2NT=P
3NT=P

2d!=natural and game force.

Trick one goes:

7S....2S....AS.....? YOUR PLAY.

Dunno what's best, but my feeling tells me to unblock a spade, take next spade in dummy and play ♦T to the Q.

The first line that comes to mind: unblock spade, win next spade in _hand_ and play a diamond to the T. (We can win next spade in dummy, cash clubs and play diamond to Q)

Looks like a complicated hand...

In that case Trumpace's line is fine.
Kind regards,

In a speedball I would also go with Trumpace's line. First thing that comes to mind.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

ok

I think this line goes down because you cannot get back to run your diamonds. They knock out your H entry.

my first thought is to unblock a spade, win the next spade in dummy, play two rounds of clubs pitching hearts, and then lead a small diamond to my queen. if that loses, I'll probably get a heart back, in which case I'll play LHO for the jack and RHO for the king.

Trump-ace's line was my first impression also. As it's speedball, I don't think I'd find anything else in time.

But other thoughts are to lead small to the ♥Q as well. Maybe something nice happens if ♥K is on my left. I could get 5 ♣ tricks. If the K is on my right, I'm scuppered though.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.
